Bette J. Schindler nee Hedeen, age 89, of Munster, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015.
Loving mother of Holly (Steven) Strains. Proud grandmother of Heather (Mike) Wieser and Katie (Tret) Robertson. Dearest great-grandmother of Elyse Robertson. Preceded in death by her loving husband Vernon “Vern” E. Schindler and her parents, Chester A. Hedeen and Emma L. Hedeen nee Newman.
Bette graduated from Steinmetz High School in Chicago along with Hugh Hefner whose picture is next to hers in the yearbook. She was a secretary until she married her beloved husband Vern. They both ran Flossmoor Pharmacy where Bette enjoyed socializing with all the customers. They enjoyed traveling across the US and retired to Bayonet Point, Florida. Bette always had a Schnauzer in her life. She was loved by many and will be missed by more.
