Harold “Harry” T. Nelsen, 86, of Bonita Springs, FL, died Friday, October 16, 2015. Formerly of Barrington, IL, he had been a Bonita resident since 1991. He was born November 8, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of Nels and Violette (née Byhring) Nelsen.

Harry married his high school sweetheart, Evelyn “Evie” in 1949. Soon after they married and began growing their family, Harry built their dream home in Barrington, Illinois. From 1962 until retirement, they raised their three boys, made friends, and socialized with their family, friends, and neighbors in their neighborhood known as Timberlake.

During Harry’s working years, he started working with his father, Nels, in the Painting and Decorating business in Chicago until his father’s untimely death in 1966. He then embarked on his second career as the owner of Byhring Jewelers, a local jewelry store located in Palatine, Illinois until his retirement in 1991. In that year, Harry and Evie moved to Bonita Springs, Florida after buying a new home at Worthington Country Club. Unfortunately, Evie passed soon after their move to Florida.
